Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It went on to become the most streaming music of that period within the space of six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop music that attracted attention to Latin Music but as well reggaeton. Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two tracks that were mostly in the Spanish language, while 2016 saw four. In the midst of Despacito's fame in 2017, there were 19 predominantly Spanish tracks that made the Top 100. In 2020, there were 41. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Soon, other artists collaborated with Reggaeton stars like Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was an issue for certain performers in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music and various other genres was a typical practice.
