Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of a mixed-race family from South London in England. She has a mother who is English while her father is Nigerian. She was raised in a council estate in the south of London. In the ages of fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained a BA degree in acting. While at school she appeared in several stage productions, like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Then, she played Elisha in a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie in the six episodes from Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She appeared in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe was also a part of the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Her credits in theatre includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams and Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe had her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. After two years as a main character, she made a guest performance in the opening episode of season 3. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 to the year 2016. Madekwe married her long-time partner, Iddo. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also starred as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actor who was raised by the large family. She was born to Roy and Patty Leggat. Ashley Leggat joined Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings, Brett, Todd and Bram as well as Rob. Ashley's brothers, who were who were all extremely physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer months, which means she basically grew up in baseball and arenas. Ashley had never been able to walk. She would dance. When she reached 2 and a 1/2 and a half, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer after this. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school in top divisions such as tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop and many more. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just some.
